A Glen Norah B man, Stephen Nyahuye, has been dragged to court for receiving stolen property as defined in Section 124 of the Criminal Law Codification and Reform Act, Chapter 9:23.
Prosecutor Zebediah Bofu alleged that on January 28, 2023, there was a break-in at Rusununguko High school and several gadgets were stolen.
The stolen items included three laptops, a silver HP and two black HPs.
It is alleged that on January 29, 2023, Nyahuye was handed the stolen laptops by Tonderai Shingirai Murapa, Alouis Mususa and Deborah Mukambachaza for which he paid US$450.
Murapa and his accomplices were arrested for unlawful entry and that led detectives to the recovery of the stolen laptops from Nyahuye.
He failed to produce a second-hand goods register leading to his arrest. The recovered property was positively identified by the complainant.
Nyahuye appeared before magistrate Dennis Mangosi who ordered him to pay a bail of ZWL$50 000. He was instructed to appear in court on. 29 March 2023.
