Former Dynamos and Warriors coach, Kallisto Pasuwa,52, was this week named the coach of the season at the 2022 TNM Super League Awards held at the Amaryllis Hotel in Blantyre, Malawi.
Pasuwa has won the Malawian Super League Championship four times in a row with the Nyasa Big Bullets after winning the Super league in 2022.
The Bullets were the overall winners, not only for the championship and coach of the year gong that Pasuwa walked away with, but also had several other players walking away with accolades.
Valued at a total K450 million spread over a three-year period, the awards surpass all others in the premiership.
The second award for Bullets was given to Gomezgani Chirwa, who scooped the defender and player of the season while Nigerian Adepoju went home with the best striker award.
Patrick Mwaungulu received recognition as the TNM Super League midfielder of the season.
Pasuwa also won the Malawian FA Cup trophy during the 2022 season as well as the pre-season Charity Shield.
The TNM Super League is the top football division in Malawi for sponsorship reasons and is contested by 16 clubs.
In June 2021, Pasuwa was added to the National Football Coaches Association becoming one of the first two foreign mentors to join the Malawian coaches’ body.
He is the former head coach of the Warriors as well as head of the under-23 side. He is also the former coach of Dynamos Football Club which he won 12 trophies which included four league titles, a record only he holds at DeMbare to date.
