Dr Eugenia Chidhakwa has been appointed Chairperson of the Technical Committee on Sports for Development by the African Union Sports Council according to the Sports and Recreation Commission (SRC).
The appointment of Dr Chidhakwa who is currently Director of Sports and Recreation in the Ministry of Youth, Sport, Arts and Recreation will now see her sitting on the continental Sports advisory board.
In a note, SRC said the respected sports administrator is already serving as the chairperson of the technical and Development Commission for region 5.
The African Union Sport Council is a Specialised Technical Office of the African Union whose responsibility is co-coordinating the Africa Sports Movement and the forum for concerted action between Member States for the promotion and development of sport.
