Chiwandire upbeat ahead of Mercado bout

Kudakwashe “Take Money” Chiwandire has warned her opponent, Yamileth Mercado, ahead of their World Boxing Council Super bantamweight world title fight in Mexico.

Chiwandire, who is now in a no-nonsense mood, believes that she is ready to win the belt and bring it home.

Addressing the media at Invictus Gym, where she was doing her training, she said that she has studied her opponent and she is ready for her.

“I know she has successfully defended the belt but I am ready to make my country proud, I will bring it home,” Chivandire said.

The 27-year-old will leave with her camp Deltaforce on Sunday although Zim Now understands that their Visas were not ready by Thursday but her camp assured the nation that the Visas are expected today (Friday).

Mercado has successfully defended the belt since 2019.
