Third suspect in Bhola Hardware US$52 000 snatch in court

Another suspect from the 19 man gang that stole US$52 000 at Bhola Hardware has appeared in court.

Edmond Nzombe, 47, of Kuwadzana 3, was before magistrate Dennis Mangosi accused of theft contravening Section 113 of the Criminal Law Codification and Reform Act, Chapter 9.23.

The state through Zebediah Bofu alleges that, on March 5, at around 1600 hours, Nzombe joined 18 other men to steal money. 

The team that was driving three cars confronted the complainant who was coming from Bhola Hardware located at number 41, Harare Street and grabbed his satchel containing US$52 000 and ran back to the cars and sped off.

 CCTV  at Bhola Hardware captured the theft.

Tapiwanashe Murefu and Tawanda Mutuma were arrested.

They implicated Nzombe. They also implcated Jeffrey Chapwanyira and others known to Jeffrey Chapwanyira who are still at large.

On March 12, detectives arrested Nzombe.

Mangosi remanded Nzombe to May 8 on ZWL$100 000 bail. Murefu and Mutuma were also granted the same conditions when they appeared in court last week.
