A 13-year-old Ruwa schoolgirl was reportedly raped by her aunt’s neighbour and also by her teacher.

After filing a rape case against her unidentified teacher from Mandley Park Primary School, the girl also filed a similar case against her aunt’s neighbour, Simbarashe Tarisai, last week on Wednesday.

The medical examination the girl was taken for showed that she had contracted an STI.

Harare provincial police spokesperson, Inspector Luckmore Chakanza, said investigations into the multiple rape cases were in progress.

“The girl was staying with her aunt. On December 26, the girl was at home with the accused, and her aunt was away at work.

“The neighbour was reported to have invited the girl to his bedroom where he raped her without protection.

“She went to school and when she returned at 2pm, the neighbour raped her twice, and threatened to kill her if she told anyone.

“The matter came to light when the girl filed a case of abuse against her teacher at ZRP Epworth.

“A medical report indicated that the girl had an STI and, when questioned how she got infected, she disclosed that she was sexually abused by Simbarashe Tarisai,” said Insp Chakanza.
