Newly-promoted Premier League clubs are finding it difficult in the big league as they continue to anchor the league table after Week 4 of matches.
The traditional big three Dynamos, Highlanders and CAPS United are claiming their spaces and place in the top four.
With Makepekepe at the summit, FC Platinum on number two while DeMbare and Bosso are on third and fourth respectively, separated by goal difference as they take each other on Saturday.
However, it is the newboys who are finding it difficult as they are struggling to pick up points.
Sheasham and Greenfuel are already in the red zone which might spell doom for them while Simba Bhora have garnered only four points so far and they remain very close to the relegation zone.
Sheesham got a thorough beating from DeMbare when they were walloped four nil by the popular Harare side.
It all seems that the traditional giants are bent on winning the title in 2023 as they posted positive results so far.
Bosso last won the league title in 2006, DeMbare in 2014, and Makepekepe in 2016, which means their fans really need something to celebrate.
Some analysts believe the new boys will apply the accounting principle of Last in, First Out as they will be booted out at the end of the season if nothing changes in their fortunes.
“The newboys are just here to add numbers they are finding it difficult in the big boys’ league, they are just here to add numbers,” Tinashe Chakadza said.
Another football enthusiast, Blessing Chadanyika strongly believes that the PSL separates boys from the men.
“The PSL separates boys from men that is what is happening and the newboys will bite the dust at the end of the season and definitely Bosso will lift the title with CAPS United on number two and DeMbare will finish fourth after FC Platinum, who will be in third position,” predicted Chadanyika.
