Zimbabwean companies are set to mobilise private capital to finance domestic development.from the London Stock Exchange at a major capital markets investment conference kicking off today in London.
Finance Minister Mthuli Ncube is slotted to deliver the keynote address at the conference facilitated by the Zimbabwean embassy in London and organised and partly funded by Financial Markets Indaba and Bard Santner Markes
Local companies including Caledonia Mining Corporation PLC, CBZ Holdings, Nyaradzo group and Karo Mining Holdings are at the conference together with regulatory bodies such as the Zimbabwe Stock Exchange, Victoria Falls Stock, Securities and Exchange Commission of Zimbabwe, Insurance and Pensions Commission, Zimbabwe Investment and Development Agency, and the Reserve Bank of Zimbabwe.
The event start which starts at with a function at LSE today will move to the Queen Elizabeth II Centre, a conference facility located in the City of Westminster.
Ther British International Investment and the UK government's Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office have seconded representatives to the conference.
Diaspora investment groups attending include Zim-UK Business Chamber, Zimbabwe Diaspora Nation-Building Initiative, Zimbabwe Diaspora Investment Group, Institute of Chartered Accountants of Zimbabwe (UK chapter), Qoki Zindlovukazi Community Group, ZimThrive, Martketseer, CMG media group, Qoki and Zimbabwe Diaspora Investment Group.
Other representatives are from primary capital markets, corporate leaders, financial institutions and investment banks executives, and public accounting firms heads, as well as secondary market players such as fund managers and stockbrokers from Zimbabwe and the diaspora.
