A frustrated step father has taken his step son to court alleging that he stole his shoes and sold them for a US$1.
Joseph Chiuswa took Tawanda Matede, who defaulted court proceedings, to the Harare Civil Court before magistrate Tamara Chibindi accusing him of stealing everything he gets his hands on in the house.
He told the court that he was no longer sure of where to put satchels of his children that are going school as they would not take time before disappearing.
"He is my wife's son. He is on drugs. This child steals.
"He stole my clothes, he stole satchels of my school-going children and it is now a challenge.
"He stole my shoes and l later heard that they had been sold for a US$1 only," he said.
He said that whenever he takes him to his relatives he keeps coming back to his house.
"When l reported the case to the police, he started to insult me," he said.
Chibindi granted a protection order in default in favour of Chiuswa.
