Man claims his estranged wife, in-laws threatening his life, gets protection order

Zim Now Writer

A Chitungwiza man, Last Charuma, was on Friday granted a protection order against his estranged wife and her parents.

Charuma claimed they are threatened his life.

Charuma told the court, when he appeared before Harare magistrate Johanna Mukwesha, that his in-laws, Casten and Daphine Busha, along with their daughter Fungai Chirige, had been conspiring to disturb his peace since last year.

After receiving death threats from strangers, Charuma said, he was forced to relocate from Chitungwiza to Hopley and he said he believed were sent by his wife and her relatives, as confirmed by her sister.

Casten did not oppose the application, but he denied threatening Charuma, arguing that he had recently been granted bail in a related case after Charuma reported him, his wife, and their daughter to the police.

Charuma was granted the protection order.
