Kathmandu Post- Nepal have announced a 22-member squad for the 2023 ICC Men's Cricket World Cup Qualifier scheduled to take place in Zimbabwe from June 18 to July 9 this year.

The team goes into closed camp today

Cricket Association of Nepal have called up similar faces from a team that are having a dream run, losing only one out of their last 18 matches to qualify for Zimbabwe Qualifiers and as well as Asia Cup.

Their last defeat came against the United Arab Emirates during the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup League 2 on March 2. Nepal had won 11 out of 12 matches of the League 2 to pip Namiba to the third spot in the League 2 on the final day after beating UAE by nine wickets on D/L method.

Nepal also won the first ever edition of the ACC Men’s Premier Cup on May 2, remaining unbeaten to progress to Asia Cup. Two of their Cup matches had yielded no result due to rain.

Nepal have been drawn in Group A alongside West Indies, hosts Zimbabwe, Netherlands, and the United States, according to Cricket Europe.

Ireland, Sri Lanka, Scotland, Oman and the UAE are in Group B.

Group A matches will be played in Harare, while the Group B will be based in Bulawayo.

The top two finalists will book the last remaining spots in the 2023 World Cup scheduled to take place in India in October.
