Two men alleged to have stolen a car have appeared before magistrate Taurai Manuwere.
Tinotenda Madzvanya, 26, of Lusaka, Highfield and Sean Lovemore Chiriseri, 34, of Mount Pleasant were before the Harare Magistrates’ Courts accused of car theft.
The State, through prosecutor Pardon Dziva alleges that, during mid-year 2020, the complainant gave his friend, one Walter Chirenje his car, a Ford Bantam for safe-keeping.
Chirenje, Madzvanya and Chiriseri worked at the same premises but for different companies.
Madzvanya and Chiriseri, working in cahoots stole the car and went away.
The complainant later came to the premise and found out that his car was not there.
He reported the matter to the police and investigations led to Madzvanya and Chiriseri's arrest.
The two were denied bail, they were ordered to apply at the High Court.
They will appear in court on July 13.
The value that was stolen was US$1 700 and nothing was recovered.
