Those who follow sport know that great teams or players are known mostly for what they do in the second half of the game. We are now in the 2nd half of 2023.

Teams have made memorable comebacks to win after all seemed lost in the first half. The turnaround is sometimes due to strategy by the coach and the players.

Other times it is just a refusal to give up– persistence beyond the normal and a refusal to lie down and die.

MARK 10: 47-48

“And when he heard that it was Jesus of Nazareth, he began to cry out and say, ‘Jesus, son of David, have mercy on me!’ And many rebuked him, telling him to be silent But he cried out all the more, ‘Son of David, have mercy on me!” And Jesus stopped and said, ‘Call him.”

The rest of Bartimaeus life was different.

Who needs to hear your voice? Someone must say, “Call him” or “Call her” this week.

May the Son of David make them hear your voice this week.
