Thousands of ZAOGA FIF church members thronged the Africa Multi-Nation for Christ Colleges in Glen View 7, Harare, to pay their last respects to the church’s founder Archbishop Ezekiel Handinawangu Guti, who died early in July.

The venue was filled to the rafters as pastors and congregations paid their last respects to the late Archbishop Guti who was described as a true servant of God as congregants vowed to protect Archbishop Guti's legacy.

ZAOGA FIF Deputy Secretary General, Apostle Steve Simukai said they chose to honour Archbishop Guti, at a place where he spent most of his time preaching and teaching.

“The church chose this place to be the place for the world to come and bid Farewell to Archbishop Guti because this is the place where he spent most of his time ministering and also its significance in the sense that it is the place where Pastors start their journey,” he said.

Baba Guti was accorded National Hero status in recognition of his immense contribution to the development of the country not just as a preacher but also as an educationist.

A national farewell service for the late Archbishop Guti will be held at the National Sports Stadium this Saturday with President Emmerson Mnangagwa expected to attend.

Thereafter, the late Archbishop Guti will be interred at a private ceremony on a date to be decided by the family.
