First stretch on Bulawayo-Victoria Falls road opened to traffic

5 kilometres of the Hwange section on the part of-Bulawayo-Victoria Falls road that is under rehabilitation has been opened to traffic.

The Beitbridge-Bulawayo-Victoria Falls has fallen into a disgraceful state longer safe for motorists with stretches such as Gwayi to Lupane becoming high risk for motorists.

The Beitbridge-Bulawayo-Victoria Falls Road is normally used by tourists getting into the country from Botswana, South Africa, Zambia and Namibia.

It is amongst the most important roads in the country as it connects the North-South corridor via Beitbridge servicing the most used land ports of entry into Zimbabwe

Zimbabwean construction company Bitumen World was contracted to do the rehabilitation of the road.
