Police in Nkayi have arrested, a 47-year old Mthandazo Ndlovu for allegedly murdering 29-year-old Happy Ncube on Saturday at Mveliswa Village, Zinyangeni area, Nkalakatha.
Ncube was stabbed with a knife on the chest.
Police confirmed the incident on their X wall.
“Happy Ncube, 29, died after being stabbed on the chest with a knife on 23/09/23 at Mveliswa Village, Zinyangeni area, Nkalakatha. The victim had attacked the suspect’s cousin before stealing two satchels.”
In a similar case, police in Chisumbanje have arrested 41-year-old Wiltom Mlambo in connection with a murder case which occurred at Guyo Village, Musikavanhu, Chipinge on Sunday afternoon.
Cases of murder have been on the rise in the country with the police recorded a significant number this month alone.
Earlier this month, police arrested a 20-year-old man, Thandolwenkosi Ndlovu, who targeted and killed homeless people in Harare’s Central Business District.
Ndlovu, allegedly killed five people in the city between August 28 and September 4 this year.
