A woman, who allegedly stole US$76 943 worth of diesel and petrol coupons from Printflow Private Limited, has appeared in court.
Ruvimbo Gladys Kanyamaure, 28, of Mainway Meadows appeared before magistrate Dennis Mangosi at the Harare Magistrates' Courts accused of fraud.
The State, through prosecutor Zebediah Bofu, alleges that during Kanyamaure’s term of employment, she was responsible for the fuel coupons, ordering, receiving and recording them in the fuel register.
It is alleged that Kanyamaure was also responsible for entering the data into the system and raise the respective monthly journals for the creditors.
It is alleged that from January 2021 to December 2022, Kanyamure received 102 045 litres of petrol and diesel coupons from Redan Coupons Pvt Ltd.
She distributed a total of 50 210 litres of both petrol and diesel coupons to various drivers upon request.
The court alleges that she converted the remaining 51 835 litres of petrol and diesel coupons to her own personal use and failed to avail them upon demand by the company.
The total quantity of fuel that was stolen wad 51 835 liters worth US$ 76 943 and nothing was recovered.
She was ordered to deposit US$300 bail and to appear in court on November 21 waiting for the completion of investigations.
