Two men, who claimed to be law enforcement agents, have been taken to court accused of extortion.
Trust Kanjoma, 40, of Kuwadzana 8, and Freeborn Matunga, 40, of Glen View, appeared before the Harare Magistrates’ Courts facing extortion allegations.
The State, through prosecutor Thomas Chanakira, alleges that on August 12, September 15, the accused persons called the complainant several times exerting pressure to mobilise money to pay them to avoid unspecified trouble and being sued.
It is alleged that, they visited the complainant's work place, claiming to be law enforcement agents and wanted to see him in connection with a theft case.
They were ordered to deposit US$200 as bail.
