A man who assaulted a complainant until he fell unconscious, accusing him of stealing his solar panel, has been denied bail.

Tinei Muketiwa, 31, of Eastview, appeared before magistrate Marehwanazvo Gofa at the Harare Magistrates’ Courts accused of attempted murder.

The State, through prosecutor Lancelot Mutsokoti, alleges that on October 28, at a Zupco rank at Gazebo Shopping Centre, Muketiwa met the complainant who was coming from a bar at around 0500 hours and accused him of stealing his solar panel.

The State alleges that he started assaulting him with an iron bar and bricks all over the body and left him lying unconscious on the ground.

The complainant was later admitted at Parirenyatwa Hospital and is still not able to speak because of the assault.

Muketiwa was ordered to appear in court on November 7 for bail application.
