Mnangagwa swears in John Paradza as Deputy Environment minister

President Emmerson Mnangagwa today swore in Gutu West Member of Parliament, John Paradza as Deputy Minister of Environment, Climate and Wildlife at State House in Harare.

At the same occasion, the President also swore in Lawrence Mavhima as a commissioner of the Public service Commission.

Paradza won the Gutu West National Assembly seat after beating Citizens Coalition for Change, Ephraim Murudu in a by-election held on November 11. The constituency’s election had been shelved following the death of one of the candidates, Christopher Mutonhori Rwodzi in a car accident in the run up to the August 23-24 harmonised Elections.

The Zanu PF deputy secretary for youth got 12 147 votes, beating three challengers, independent candidate Sebastian Mudzingwa who got 1 775 votes, Ephraim Murudu of the Citizens Coalition for Change with 1 258 and Robson Kurwa of NCA who got 138 votes.

Paradza will deputise Mangaliso Ndlovu who is Environment, Climate and Wildlife Minister.
