The 2023 Zimbabwe Premier Soccer League season has concluded, leaving behind a trail of exhilaration and drama that will be etched in the memories of football fans for years to come.

The league, sponsored by Delta Beverages under the Castle Lager brand, witnessed 18 teams vying for the coveted championship title, each bringing their own unique style and determination to the pitch.

As the season kicked off in April 2023, the defending champions, FC Platinum, were determined to retain their title and establish themselves as a dominant force in Zimbabwean football. However, they faced a formidable challenge from traditional powerhouses like Dynamo and Highlanders with their own rich history and passionate fan bases.

At one point, Highlanders topped the log and went the whole first half of the season without tasting defeat.

The Brito-coached side was tipped to win the title but they eventually bottled it up.

DeMbare tried to challenge for the league title but they dropped crucial points at unexpectedly.

Ngezi Platinum’s Surprise Ascendancy

Amidst the familiar faces of Zimbabwean football, a surprise contender emerged from the shadows – Ngezi Platinum, a team based in Mhondoro.
