The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Trade has dismissed as fake, a Facebook account under the name former national police spokesperson, Charity Charamba that posts police-related content and promotes fraudulent pyramid schemes.
In a statement, the Ministry said the fake account has old photographs of Ambassador Charamba and videos of the Ambassador addressing members of the media during her previous role as spokesperson of the ZRP.
“Of serious concern is that the account, however is promoting a pyramid schemes, inviting unsuspecting members to make investments in return dividends.
“The Ministry wishes to categorically state that the account is FAKE and does not represent Ambassador Charamba in any respect,” reads the statement.
The Ministry urged members of the public to desist from engaging the page, which impersonates Ambassador Charamba, adding that they should be warry of scammers.
