Zimbabwe’s Multi-Award-Winning martial artist, Master Wilfred Mashaya, also known as the Zim Ninja, was honoured in absentia in Poland on Saturday.
He was inducted into the Poland Martial Arts Hall of Fame known as The International Budo Bushi Hall of Fame 2023.
The event was organised by Grand Master Stanislaw Majchrzak, together with International Martial Arts Association, International Self Defense Association, Martial Arts Association, International Global Institute of Martial Arts and Combat Sports.
The mayor Mayor of Precko Municipality Jan Dziedzina, attended the ceremony.
The Zim Ninja was honoured with a Hall of Fame Samurai Award, Budo Ring, Hall of Fame Certificate and Hall of Fame Trophy.
In an interview with Zim Now, Mashaya said he feels honoured to be recognised.
“I feel very happy and blessed to be recognised and honoured by foreigners or the International community. It’s so humbling.”
Mashaya said to be an international recognised champion one need to have discipline and being humble.
“Discipline is the ultimate. Also, hard work, dedication and commitment, believing in oneself, being humble and swallowing one’s pride, above all believing God that through him we can do the impossible and conquer the world,” he added.
He thanked the Ministry of Sport and the nation for the continued support throughout his journey up this great achievement.
