TelOne midfielder Blessing Sahondo crowned central region soccer star

TelOne midfielder Blessing “:Odega” Sahondo has been crowned the Ruvimbo Funeral Central Region Soccer League 2023 Soccer Star of the Year at a function held at Nichrut Lodge in Shurugwi on Saturday.

Sahondo, who was recently voted the TelOne Player of the Season after leading the WI-FI Boys to win the championship title scoring 11 goals brushed aside competition from Tongogara's Simon Shanga who was the first runner-up and fellow TelOne teammate Blessing Sibanda who was the second runner up. Sibanda also got the Golden Boot award after scoring 12 goals.

TelOne goalkeeper Prince Phiri was crowned the Goalkeeper of the Year with 13 clean sheets.

Tongogara coach Calvin Maphosa was voted the Coach of the Year after leading Tongogara to second position finish in which they only lost one match.

Cuthbert Gwati was named the Referee of the Year.
