Man accused of sodomising drinking mate

A 31-year-old man, who allegedly invited a fellow drinker to his house, offered him a drink and then raped him, will await the outcome of his trial while in prison.

Natsai Gwete, 31, of Glen View 1, appeared in court facing aggravated indecent assault and was remanded in custody to January 16.

The State alleges that in October 2023, at around 2300 hours, Gwete and the 22-year-old male complainant were drinking beer at a night club.

After accompanying a certain lady to her house on the way back, Gwete told the complainant that he wanted to get beer at his house.

Gwete allegedly then gave the complainant beer who took a sip.

The complainant fell asleep and when he woke up at around 0600 hours, he discovered that Gwete was removing a condom from the complainant’s rear.

Gwete allegedly told the complainant not to reveal the matter to anyone. But the complainant went on to make a police report, leading to Gwete’s arrest.
