Harare man shoots son over $300 debt

A Harare man had been arrested on attempted murder charges after shooting his son who had come to collect a debt that the father owed.

Acting Harare provincial police spokesperson Assistant Inspector Faith Mapisa confirmed that Moses Zimba, 51, was arrested after shooting Kudakwashe Zimba, 28, 28- twice and critically wounding him.

Kudakwashe is admitted at Parirenyatwa Hospital.

It is believed that Kudakwashe visited his father’s house to collect owed money and Moses offered US$20 upfront and proposed to transfer the remaining amount to Kudakwashe’s wife.

However, Kudakwashe insisted on remaining at his father’s place.

Moses ordered Kudakwashe to leave the premises. Kudakwashe resisted and Moses pulled out a firearm and shot his son in the abdomen and waist.
