British Formula One star Lewis Hamilton is set to leave Mercedes and join Ferrari for the 2025 season, a move that will see him partner Charles Leclerc.
According to multiple reports the Mercedes factory are to be briefed by Chief Executive of the team, Toto Wolff, ahead of a formal announcement later today.
The 39-year-old Hamilton, a joint-record seven- time world champion, has been with Mercedes since 2013 after leaving McLaren.
Hamilton only last year seemed to have quelled rumours of a move to the Scuderia by extending his contract with Mercedes until the end of the 2025 season.
Ferrari chairman, John Elkann is reportedly a keen admirer of Hamilton and has been negotiating the deal that will see Hamilton partner Leclerc while Carlos Sainz leaves the team.
Ferrari recently announced a long-term contract extension for Leclerc, but Sainz’s future remains in doubt, with his deal expiring after the 2024 campaign.
