Hatcliffe Extension assault video woman in court

One of the women shown in a video that went viral, showing them viciously attacking another woman, has been taken to court.

Mitchel Kariwo, of Hatcliffe Extension, appeared at the Harare Magistrates’ Courts charged with assault.

The State through prosecutor Rufaro Chonzi, alleges that on February 1, at around 1300 hours in Hatcliffe, Kariwo arrived at the complainant’s address looking for her while in the company of four others, who are still at large.

The complainant arrived moments later and one of the suspects, who is still at large, asked the complainant if she was having a love affair with the husband of one of her accomplices identified as Zeripah Kanduza.

The complainant denied having the affair and this angered Kariwo and her accomplices and they teamed up and dragged the complainant out of her house pulling her braids.

It is alleged that Kariwo punched the complainant several times while other complainants were punching and kicking her all over her body until she became unconscious.

Kariwo and her accomplices went on to strip the complainant by pulling off her dress and tearing her skin tight and pant, leaving her lying naked, until a well-wisher covered her with a cloth.

The complainant later on made a police report, leading to the arrest of Kariwo, who was shocked to see the video of what had happened.

She was ordered to appear in court on February 12 for bail application.
