Fresh twist to St Faith saga

Zim Now Writer

The St Faith Mission in saga has taken a new twist with new revelations alleging that the school headmaster was behind the incitement of learners to protest, with some of the school children reported to have been drunk during the demonstrations.

It has emerged that the headmaster, Arnold Makamba, who has been fingered for inciting the protests, reportedly has an impending transfer issue with the institution’s responsible authorities with the Anglican Diocese of Manicaland requesting the Primary and Secondary Education Ministry for his transfer from St Faith a week back.

In a February 8 letter, the authorities reportedly requested Primary and Secondary Education Minister, Torerai Moyo, for the transfer of the headmaster, arguing that relations between both parties remained irretrievably sour.

“We have tried our best to engage your office for the transfer of Arnold Makamba from our school for there remains no workable relationship between the responsible authority and himself,” the letter reads in part.

“We can no longer work with him and our request is for his immediate transfer from our school,” added the Anglican Diocese of Manicaland authorities in the letter.

Makamba is alleged to have hired thugs to disturb learning activities and attack Anglican diocese leaders in Manicaland, including Bishop Eric Ruwona There are also allegations that he colluded with some members of the School Development Committee to wrestle control of the school accounts from the authorities.
