Normalcy returned to St Faith School following the intervention of the Primary and Secondary Education Ministry.
This comes as learners at the school staged a demonstration over school levy increment of US$600 announced by the school authorities.
The parent ministry then engaged the school administration, learners, parents and the responsible authorities over the issue and reached an amicable agreement.
In a statement seen by Zim Now, the Permanent Secretary in the Ministry said:
“The ministry today met with the members of the Responsible Authority, (the Anglican Church), the School Development Committee and Ministry officials (Head Office, Provincial and District Offices). During the meeting, all sticking issues were resolved amicably,” the Permanent Secretary said.
“The meeting agreed that normalcy returns to the school and that pupils continue to learn in a safe and healthy environment,” the statement added.
During the skirmishes, police reportedly intervened to quell the disturbances, with reports saying police brought in its Canine Section after learners turned rowdy.
