Two men who were allegedly part of a robbery where they broke window panels and burglar bars to enter in offices in and steal have been taken to court.
Bhekhimpilo Ncube, 39, of Luveve 5, Bulawayo and Mehluli Ncube, 43, of Insuza, appeared before the Harare Magistrates' Courts charged with robbery.
They were remanded in custody.
The State alleges that on December 3, 2023, at around 2300 hours, the complainants who are private security guards at Paza Buster Car Sale were on duty when they were confronted by the two accused and their accomplices. The State alleges that the accused had two rifles and pistols.
They were all putting on balaclavas and woollen gloves. They forced the two complainants into a warehouse where they ordered them to lie down before tying both hands and legs using shoelaces and handcuffs.
It is alleged that two of the accused remained behind guarding the complainants while others went to administration offices, where they broke window panes and burglar bars to enter into the offices.
When they got inside, they searched all the offices looking for money and valuables.
They found a safe in the administration office and used electric grinders to break open the safe.
They allegedly stole US$500 which was in the safe and went to the accounts office where they also used the electric grinders to break open the safe and stole US$2 500.
The suspects stole director's new HP laptop which was in his office, Mercedes Benz S450 keys, Mercedes G Wagon keys and Pazza Buster Company Documents.
They left the complainants tied up who were later rescued by a nearby security guard Edmond Chiponga.
February 20, detectives were informed that the two accused were part of the team that robbed the complaints and follow up were made to Bulawayo.
At around 2300 hours, a raid was carried out at Bhekhimpilo's place of residents leading to his arrest.
He was interviewed and he implicated Mehluli, Aggripa Mloyi the late Godfrey Njoromore, and others who were only known to the late Njoromore.
