Authorities allege Kuwanza and Garira were part of a six-person group responsible for stealing US$720 676, R10 500, and €120, along with laptops and a pistol, from the financial firm. CCTV footage reportedly captured their involvement in the crime.

Following their arrest, Garira is said to have led authorities to the recovery of US$20 000, part of his alleged share from the robbery. A blue Honda Fit purchased with stolen money was also recovered.

The accused individuals are reportedly implicating each other in the crime. Their accomplices, Brighton Chikukwa, Silence Matambo, Washington Mangwanda, Liberty Mukanganise, Tafadzwa Richard Marondera, and Luke Zinyengere, have already been remanded in custody after earlier court appearances.

The investigation revealed that Chikukwa, the first apprehended suspect, received US$40 000 from the stolen money. Authorities recovered US$25 000 and impounded his Ford Ranger truck, allegedly bought with stolen funds.

Through various tactics, detectives apprehended the remaining suspects, recovering a portion of the stolen money.

Mukanganise: US$20 560, car accessories, and tyres recovered.

Marondera and Zinyengere: US$50 600 recovered. Zinyengere allegedly used part of his share to purchase a car and iPhones.

Despite these recoveries, a significant portion of the stolen funds remains unaccounted for.

The total stolen amount stands at US$720 676, R10 500, and €120, while the recovered amount is only US$183 760.
