Pedistock employees in court for theft

Pedistock Investments employees have been arraigned before the courts on allegations of stealing property from the company.

Tafadzwa Mitiros, 26, of Hatcliffe, Simija Mululu, 35, of Domboshava and Nathan Dakura, 34, of Hatcliffe appeared before the Harare Magistrates’ Courts charged with theft.

They were remanded in custody.

The State, through prosecutor Nomsa Kangara, alleges that on February 29, at around 2200 hours the accused stole from their employer, Pedstock Investments Company, four standard tubes, two overhang pipes and 11 green house braces.

At around 2230 hours, two security guards from VS Security Company, who were on patrol, saw a stationary blue truck and told their control and another member of the Borrowdale neighbourhood watch committee.

The security guards went to look for the owner but could not find him.

Another team from VS Security Company arrived at the scene and joined the search.

The team later apprehend two accused persons who were coming from the field.

When they were interrogated, the two accused persons admitted to have stolen the property from the company.

It is alleged that one accused ran away and the team only took one to Borrowdale Police Station and reported the case.

Investigations led to the arrest of the other two accused persons, who implicated by Mitiros.

The value of the alleged property is US$2 812.49.
