A man, who claims to be an international tutor, has been arraigned before the courts on allegations of stealing from students.
Terrence Mushonga, 34, Retreat Park Waterfalls, appeared before magistrate Dennis Mangosi at the Harare Magistrates’ Courts charged with theft of trust property.
He will appear in court today for bail application.
The complainant in this matter Theodore Maswabi, 31 of Warren Park.
The State, through prosecutor Thomas Chanakira, alleges that on February 20, Mushonga, who is an international English tutor, was given US$360 to book on behalf of Maswabi for an examination at the British Council but converted the money into personal use.
The complainant verified with the British Council and discovered that nothing was paid and made a police report.
The State also alleges that in February, the complainant in this matter, Dorcas Mafaifi, 25, who is also a student to Mushonga gave him US$150.
The money was meant to book on her behalf at the British Council but he allegedly converted the money to personal use.
She later verified with the organisation and realised that nothing had been deposited, leading her filing a police report.
