Harare football giants Dynamos have rejected midfielder Obreil Chirinda’s attempt to repay the signing-on fee they offered him last year, leaving his playing career in limbo.
Chirinda, who was offered a US$6 000 signing bonus by Dynamos, subsequently signed a contract with the club. However, he later opted to join Ngezi Platinum Stars after DeMbare and his former team Bulawayo Chiefs failed to agree on transfer terms.
This move resulted in a dispute, with Dynamos lodging a complaint with the Premier Soccer League which led to Chirinda’s suspension.
According to sources, Chirinda attempted to resolve the issue by returning the signing fee to Dynamos along with a signed affidavit.
However, Dynamos have reportedly refused to accept the money, terming it a “shameful bribe.” This stance could prolong Chirinda’s suspension from competitive football for an indefinite period, as long as Dynamos maintain their position.
