Castle Lager Premier Soccer League: Dynamos face giant-killing threat from Hwange

Philemon Jambaya

Harare giants, Dynamos, find themselves in unfamiliar territory this weekend as they travel to Barbourfields Stadium in Bulawayo to take on Hwange in a Castle Lager Premier Soccer League clash. This match promises to be a test for DeMbare, who are still reeling from their opening day defeat to rivals Highlanders.

Hwange, on the other hand, enter the match brimming with confidence after securing a 1-0 victory over Yadah in their first game of the season. Coach Nation Dube is confident his team can pull off an upset. “They are just like any other club,” declared Dube. “We are competing at the same level and we are not moved by their reputation.”

Dynamos’ woes are compounded by the fact that they are currently unable to play home games at their usual stadium due to renovations. This adds another layer of difficulty to their challenge against a motivated Hwange side.
