The National Social Security Authority has warned of fraudsters issuing fake NSSA Clearance Certificates for financial gain saying the documents are accessed for free from the insurer's portal.

In a notice on X, NSSA said they do not charge any fee for the certificate, adding that businesses can make use of the self-service portal or scan the Quick search code to generate the certificate.

“Beware of fraudsters issuing fake NSSA Clearance Certificates, NSSA does not change for the issuance of the clearance certificate, all you need is to generate the certificate on the NSSA Self-Service Portal provided your monthly remittances and submission of returns is up to date.

“All businesses are advised to verify tendered certificates exposes business entities to liability for any employment accident costs that may arise by contracting a non-compliant entity,” NSSA said.
