Samson Maruta, 47, and Kudakwashe Nyagumbo, both of Budiriro 5B, appeared before magistrate Dennis Mangosi at the Harare Magistrates’ Courts charged with murder.

They were ordered to appear in court on April 5.

The State, through prosecutor Thomas Chanakira, alleges that on December 16, 2023, at around 0030 hours, near Budiriro 5B, Current shops, the two assaulted the now-deceased William Matore.

It is alleged that this was because they had saw him trying to steal from Goshen Community at Current Shops in Budiriro 5B.

The State alleges that the accused assaulted him with booted feet and a wooden a wooden stick.

After assaulting him, they then dumped him at a bus stop near the shopping centre.

The now deceased Mutore was later taken to Sally Mugabe hospital for post mortem, which concluded that he had died because of severe head trauma.

On March 20, 2024, the two accused were identified by a witness who then told the police, leading to their arrest.
