Police have since arrested Bulawayo maid Kimberly Ncube, who was wanted in connection with the kidnap of her employer’s one year eight-month-old son.
Ncube had also stolen the employer’s vehicle a BMW328i, which had been parked at the Pardonhurst house where Ncube was working.
Police confirmed the arrest on their Twitter handle saying: “The ZRP confirms the arrest of a maid, Kimberley Ncube (19) in connection with cases of kidnapping a baby boy (1 year 8 months) and theft of a white Sedan BMW 328i vehicle, registration number AEA 8833, which occurred on 31/10/22 at her employer’s residence along Mackenzie Road, Paddonhurst. The arrest led to the recovery of the stolen vehicle and re-union of the baby with his family.”
Bulawayo police deputy provincial spokesperson Assistant Inspector Nomalanga Msebele had said in a statement that Ncube had also taken with her the vehicle’s documents.
Her employer was away and Ncube took advantage of that to vanish with the baby and the vehicle.
