Starafrica announces leadership shuffle: Longtime CEO retires, successor named

Starafrica Corporation Limited (Starafrica) bid farewell to Engineer Robson Nyabadza, its Chief Executive Officer, who retired on March 31, 2024, after a tenure of nearly eight years.

“Engineer Nyabadza’s leadership has been instrumental in driving operational efficiency and setting high quality standards across the company,” said the Board of Directors in a statement.

“We are grateful for his service and wish him all the best in his well-deserved retirement.”

To ensure a smooth transition, Starafrica has appointed Formai Mashame Myambuki as Acting Chief Executive Officer, effective April 1, 2024. Myambuki is a seasoned financial professional with over 15 years of experience, having previously served as Starafrica's Finance Director.

“I am honoured to take on this new role and lead Starafrica forward,” said Myambuki. "Building on Engineer Nyabadza’s legacy, I am committed to furthering Starafrica’s success." Myambuki holds a Bachelor of Accounting Sciences degree along with postgraduate diplomas in Accounting Sciences and Applied Accounting Sciences, all from the University of South Africa.

Dzingayi Maworera also joins Starafrica as the new Finance Director and Company Secretary, effective April 1, 2024. Maworera brings over 15 years of experience in financial management, having most recently served as Investment Principal at Takura Capital Partners (Private) Limited.

“I am excited to join Starafrica and contribute my experience to the company’s continued growth,” said Maworera. He holds a Bachelor of Accountancy Honours Degree from the University of Zimbabwe (2008) and brings a wealth of knowledge from his prior roles at Invesci Asset Management and KPMG.

The Board of Directors congratulated both Myambuki and Maworera on their appointments and expressed their confidence in their leadership as they take on their new responsibilities.
