A man from Rugare, Harare, who teamed up with others and allegedly assaulted the now-deceased, accusing him of stealing his items, has been taken to court.

Bwananoos Matoto, 44, of Rugare, appeared at the Harare Magistrates’ Courts charged with murder.

He was ordered to appear in court on April 25.

The State alleges that on April 5, at Rugare Open Space Matoto teamed up with other accused who are already arrested and assaulted the now deceased.

The court heard that Matoto picked a wooden stick and beat the now deceased with it.

It is alleged that they used switches, fists and open hands several times accusing him of stealing his white garments, blankets and a blue comforter.

According to the State the now-deceased died because of the bodily harm that had been caused by the injuries from the assault.
