Zimbabwe's tourism authorities are strategically aligning themselves with influential media platforms in the Middle East, particularly Emirati Women Travel Bloggers, to bolster their presence in the region and promote Zimbabwe as a prime destination.
The Zimbabwe Tourism Authority has set its sights on the United Arab Emirates as a key market. In pursuit of this goal, the authority has extended invitations to Emirati bloggers, offering them the opportunity to experience Zimbabwe's renowned hospitality first hand, with the aim of increasing tourist arrivals from the Middle East.
Government officials are optimistic about the potential impact of these collaborations, believing that the influence wielded by the bloggers will attract more tourists from the Middle East to Zimbabwe.
Takuza Munyanyiwa, Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Tourism and Hospitality Industry, highlighted the importance of allowing external voices to shape the narrative of Zimbabwe as a tourist destination. He emphasized the role of these bloggers in crafting a positive portrayal of Zimbabwe through their experiences and perceptions, ultimately aiding in boosting tourist arrivals.
Miss Maitha Alsuwaidi, representing Emirati Women Travel Bloggers, expressed enthusiasm for the opportunity to explore Zimbabwe and Africa for the first time. She conveyed her commitment to sharing their experiences through their platforms, effectively contributing to the promotion of destination Zimbabwe.
The bloggers are scheduled to spend eight days in the country, during which they will visit various attractions including Nyanga, Hwange, and Victoria Falls, immersing themselves in Zimbabwe's hospitality and showcasing the country's diverse offerings.
