An Avondale West man, Elton Jongwe, allegedly stabbed another with a sharp object in the stomach and hit him twice on the leg with an iron bar.
Jongwe, 30, appeared at the Harare Magistrates’ Courts charged with attempted murder.
He will appear in court on May 23.
The complainant in this matter is Netsai Marongese, 48.
The State alleges that on May 4, Marongese was drinking beer with others at Jongwe's place where his wife operates a shebeen.
The court heard that Marongese had a misunderstanding with his fellow called Livy while Jongwe was in his room.
When Jongwe heard the squabbles, he came out and started assaulting Marongese.
The court was informed that he assaulted him twice on the right leg with an iron bar and stabbed him once on the right side of the stomach with an unknown sharp object.
Marongese then ran away but could not go far since he had an injured leg.
