A pastor with Faith Ministries International, Kudzai Ngoni Nyamasoka, has been arrested by the Zimbabwe Anti-Corruption Commission on allegations of fraud and forgery.

The arrest comes after an investigation into a land dispute involving Nyamasoka and another church, True Believers International Ministries.

According to a memo released by ZACC, Nyamasoka had unsuccessfully applied to lease a piece of land adjacent to his church from the Harare City Council in March 2024.

The land was instead leased to True Believers International Ministries. Nyamasoka, however, allegedly refused to accept the decision and began intimidating members of the other church, as well as Harare City Council officials, in an attempt to force them to vacate the stand.

Nyamasoka allegedly conspired with unidentified individuals who claimed to be from the Zimbabwe Republic Police, President’s Department, and Zanu PF to intimidate the other church members.

He also allegedly wrote fraudulent letters, using the ZACC logo, to the City of Harare’s Mbare district office officials, purporting to be one Phiri, an officer from ZACC.

“After his unsuccessful lease application, Nyamasoka, in connivance with individuals yet to be identified, but who purported to be from the Zimbabwe Republic Police, President’s Department, and Zanu PF, intimidated members of the True Believers International Ministries Church to vacate the stand.

“The accused would also threaten Harare  City Council officials purporting to be one Phiri, an officer from ZACC and would write fraudulent letters with the ZACC logo to the City of Harare’s Mbare district office officials,” ZACC said.

ZACC has confirmed his arrest and stated he is facing charges of fraud and forgery.
