The Judicial Service Commission (JSC) announced the appointment of Justice Garainesu Mawadze as the first Deputy Judge President of the High Court of Zimbabwe. The President, His Excellency Dr Emmerson D. Mnangagwa, approved the recommendation from the JSC, which also saw ten new judges join the High Court bench.
Justices Chivayo Naison, Dembure Regis, Dube Mpokiseng, Mambara Joel, Mandaza Gibson, Mushure Faith, Ndlovu Vivian, Nduna Ngoni, Phillipa Philips, and Siziba Sijabuliso will be sworn in alongside Justice Mawadze on Monday, June 17th, 2024, at 10:00 AM at the Constitutional Court in Harare.
These appointments follow public interviews conducted by the JSC last month, with 39 candidates vying for the positions. The Commission congratulated all successful candidates on their appointments.
