Bulawayo is abuzz with anticipation as the city gears up to host the fourth edition of the ZKS Spinning and Drifting Competition this Saturday.
The newly built ZKS Spinning Arena will be the epicentre of this high-octane event, featuring local and regional champions battling it out for glory.
Local spinners are chomping at the bit to compete, especially with the added incentive of a hefty sponsorship package.
"This is huge! We've been training hard and the prize money definitely adds some extra motivation," exclaimed one eager participant. Another competitor highlighted the opportunity to learn from regional rivals, stating, "Winning is great, but for me, it's about sharing the stage with these talented spinners and picking up some new tricks."
Adding to the excitement, sponsors have pledged to make this a day to remember for both participants and spectators.
Enock Construction, a local company that played a part in the arena's construction, sees the event as a way to empower local youth and nurture their talents.
"We're proud to be the first official sponsor," said Enock Construction spokesperson, Bonakaliso Mlotshwa. "We'll be awarding prize money to the top three finishers, making this an even more thrilling competition."
The event is expected to draw a large crowd, further igniting the Bulawayo community after a successful spin-off race held earlier this year.
The participation of spinners from Zambia and Botswana adds an international flair to the competition, promising a truly electrifying atmosphere.
This event marks a significant milestone for ZKS Spinning Arena founder Zekhethelo Mlilo.
