A man who allegedly took his 15-year-old sister-in-law to work and in the process tried to rape her, has been taken to court.

Talent Nyambo, 33, of Epworth, appeared at the Harare Magistrates' Courts charged with attempted rape.

He will appear in court on July 8, 2024.

The complainant in this matter is a 15-year-old juvenile.

The State alleges that on June 24, at around 0500 hours, the complainant and Nyambo left home for Mbare after she was promised that Nyambo had secured a job.

The court heard that whilst in Mbare, Nyambo took the complainant to a certain room, he stood behind her and started fondling her breasts.

She allegedly tried to stop him, but he grabbed her hand and forcibly removed her jean trousers.

Nyambo allegedly remembered he had not locked the door. When he went to lock the door, the complainant managed to escape.
