South African coaching legend Pitso Mosimane has showered praise on Zimbabwean footballers, crediting them for playing a key role in his past successes.
In a recent interview with Robert Marawa on Marawa Sports Worldwide, Mosimane, a two-time CAF Champions League winner with Al Ahly and one-time winner with Mamelodi Sundowns, spoke about his long-standing appreciation for Zimbabwean talent.
"I used to raid Zimbabwe," Mosimane confessed, mentioning players like Khama Billiat, Cuthbert Malajila, Method Mwanjali, and Kuda Mahachi.
He further revealed a unique strategy: scheduling pre-season matches against Zimbabwean giants CAPS United, Highlanders, and Dynamos.
"People don't know why," Mosimane admitted, "it is because there is talent in Zimbabwe."
Mosimane believes so strongly in Zimbabwean potential that he declared, "If I am to have a Premier League team right now... I will go to Zimbabwe for pre-season... trust me I will come with one or two players" to sell to top South African clubs.
