Two individuals accused of stealing goods valued at over US$100 000 from Steel Centre have been brought before the court.
Farai Mutami, a resident of Eastview, and Fungai Magona, from Chitungwiza, appeared before Magistrate Dennis Mangosi at the Harare Magistrates' Courts on charges of theft.
They were remanded until July 8, 2024 for a comprehensive bail application.
According to the State, as presented by prosecutor Thomas Chanakira, between May 2024 and July 2, 2024, in Graniteside, Mutami and Magona allegedly stole various items including square cables measuring 20x40x40, square tubes measuring 20x30x20, rectangle tubes measuring 75x80x40, galvanized wire measuring 20x2mm, black tying wire measuring 60x1.6, and galvanized sheets measuring 100x0.5, all while being aware that Steel Centre, represented by Blessing Chiduro, was the rightful owner.
The court was informed that the total value of the stolen goods amounted to US$100 230.
