Blue Raven Solar and Boreholes employee, Kudakwashe Taura, 29, of Westlea, appeared before magistrate Apollonia Marutya at the Harare Magistrates' Courts facing theft allegations.
Taura is accused of conniving with Simbarashe Usaviwevhu to steal lithium batteries form their employer, Samuel Makani, director of Blue Raven Solar and Boreholes.
The State, through prosecutor Thomas Chanakira, alleges that on June 27, at around 2200 hours, Taura colluded with his accomplice, Usaviwevhu who was employed by Makani as a caretaker and went to Makani's house where they used an unknown object to open the door and stole fourteen lithium batteries with serial numbers unknown and went away.
A police report was made and detectives picked information leading to the arrest of Usaviwevhu who said they had colluded to commit the offence with the Taura leading to his arrest.
He was allegedly found with Makani's battery components called cells removed from the stolen batteries.
As result the total value that was stolen was US$13 300.
He will appear in court on July 8, 2024.
